What wondrous love is this, O my soul, O my soul! What wondrous love is this, O my soul! What wondrous love is this, that caused the Lord of bliss to bear the dreadful curse for my soul, for my soul, to bear the dreadful curse for my soul. - American folk hymn from the early 1800s
That folk hymn has always been a haunting song in word and tune. This week, holy week, we have traveled from Hosanna! Save us! to Crucify him. We have moved from the temple, to the cross, to the grave. This journey is full of emotions from celebration, to lament, to wonder. This Easter as we gather, we gather to remember the empty tomb, we gather to celebrate that the stone has been rolled away, that the crucified Christ is risen. Christ is risen, Indeed.
I hope that you will join us for this amazing weekend of worship. We have five scheduled baptisms(we can add you) on Saturday afternoon’s Easter worship at 4 pm. We will celebrate at 6:45 am on Easter morning at Ester Simplot Park( we will have coffee for you). We will gather for worship on Easter Sunday at 9, 10 & 11 Downtown and 10 at Amity. Invite a friend, come early to make sure that you get a parking place. Walk, Bike, Uber, come and worship. Christ is Risen, Indeed.
Grace and peace,
Rev. Dr. Duane A. Anders (He, Him, His)
PS: We will have offering baskets at the Good Friday service for feeding those in Gaza.
