Got yard waste?

Thursday, October 10, 17, and 24

Curbside collection for residential yard waste is scheduled for three Thursdays in October (Oct., 10, 17, and 24), You can set out a total of four bags and/or 4′ bound bundles each week and our crew will swing by and collect them for you. Bags and/or bundles should be placed on the curb by 6 a.m. each Thursday morning.


Important Reminders:

  • Yard waste must be curbside by 6 AM on collection days.
  • Maximum of 4 bags or bundles per week; can be a combination of bags and bundles NOT to exceed 4 in total. (example: 2 bags + 2 bundles = 4 total OR 3 bags + 1 bundle = 4 total)
  • Each recyclable paper bag should NOT exceed 35 pounds.


NO furniture, appliances, dirt, rocks, sod, and/or construction debris will be picked up.


City Council Vacancy Application 

Now accepting applications to fill an open seat on the City Council

This vacancy, Position No. 4, was previously held by Rhona Baron. According to Washington State law, qualified applicants must be registered voters, reside within the City limits, and have lived within the City limits for at least one (1) year. The appointed individual will serve the remainder of the term, ending December 31, 2025. The position offers a salary of $600 per month.

 

Residents interested in serving on the City Council are encouraged to apply by submitting 1) a letter of interest outlining relevant experience and qualifications, and 2) a completed City Council Vacancy Application and Questionnaire form by 4 PM on October 25, 2024. The City Council meets at 7 PM in the Council Chambers at City Hall on the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month. Regular meetings typically last 1.5 to 2 hours, though they may extend longer due to specific topics that attract more public comment or during periods with numerous action items. Additionally, the Council holds a Study Session at 5:30 PM on the same days, designed for discussion on various issues.

 

The Leavenworth City Council oversees the creation and administration of city-related subcommittees and advisory committees. Each Councilmember is assigned to a committee at the beginning of each year by the Mayor and Mayor Pro Tempore.
