Spring yard waste curbside collection for city residents
Thursday, May 2, May 9 and May 16
The 2024 spring curbside collection is scheduled for the first three Thursdays in May.
Reminders:
-
Yard waste must be curbside by 6am on collection days.
- Bags will NOT be picked up if they are plastic, wet, and/or torn.
-
Maximum of 4 bags or bundles per week; can be a combination of bags and bundles NOT to exceed 4 in total. (example: 2 bags + 2 bundles = 4 total OR 3 bags + 1 bundle = 4 total)
- Each recyclable paper bag should NOT exceed 35 pounds.

Ensure branches and limbs are less than 4 feet in length, bundled, and tied with biodegradable twine.
- NO furniture, appliances, dirt, rocks, sod, and/or construction debris will be picked up.

Here are a few highlights from last week's City Council meeting.
- Conducted Public Hearings for Park Avenue and Alley Vacations.
- Adopted Ordinance 1691 - Alley Vacation Request.
- Approved Resolution 09-2024, Financial Policy Update and Resolution 10-2024, Acceptance of Department of Ecology Loan for the Wastewater Facility and General Sewer Plan.
- Approved supplemental agreements for Gray & Osborne for the Glacier Parking Lot Improvements and 2024 Scrub Seal projects.

State Representatives recognized by the City of Leavenworth
The City of Leavenworth recognized State Representatives Keith Goehner and Mike Steele during the regular City Council Meeting on Tuesday, April 23, 2024, for their continued work to address housing affordability challenges faced by the Leavenworth community and similar tourism-dependent municipalities across Washington State.
Mayor Florea presented State Representatives Goehner and Steele with the City Council's approved Resolutions 07-2024 and 08-2024, honoring and thanking them for their demonstrated foresight and leadership.
