Forum on Ballot Question #3 October 23rd 7:30 p.m.
This question challenges current law that protects transgender people’s rights and safety in Massachusetts

Sponsored by The Beverly Multifaith Coalition
At Temple B’nai Abraham 200 East Lothrop Street, Beverly

In 2016, Governor Charlie Baker along with a supermajority in the Massachusetts State House signed into law that people cannot face discrimination in public places (i.e. doctors’ offices, restaurants, hotels) because of their gender identity. Voting no on Question 3 in November would dismantle these laws and protections. Voting yes would keep them in place.

Come learn legal, religious, and personal perspectives on this ballot question, and why your vote matters so much. Bring your questions and thoughts.

FBC Tours Garden School
Pictured to the right are Ben Zoba and John Thomson while on tour at the Garden School. Ben is an FBC member and co-founder of The Garden School, a Gap Year program for recent grads of high school or college. Garden School provides hands on learning in farming, carpentry and fostering healthy community. Barely two years old the school is developing in stages. Thanks to a $5000 matching grant from First Baptist (new initiatives fund), the manor is getting a new roof (over the large meeting space) and repairs to wall and ceiling from water damage. Also, the old tennis courts have been converted to a garden providing its first harvest! Pictured below: Large meeting room under repair. Right: John Thomson touring the green house with Ben.
