October Opportunities to Give
Throughout the month of October, there are several opportunities being offered for members of the church family to give to support the outreach work of the church.

1.    On Sunday, October 7, we will be collecting the fellowship offering . This offering is taken on the first Sunday of every month. The funds are used to help those in our midst who are experiencing a crisis and need assistance.

2.    In celebration of Dr. Esther Chang’s 20 years of music leadership, the Esther Extravaganza is being held the weekend of October 13 and 14. If you would like to donate to a gift for Esther, you may drop of your donation to the church office.

3.    Throughout the month, we will also be collecting the One Great Hour of Sharing offering which is an ecumenical offering. The funds collected will be used to help those who have experienced damage and loss as a result of Hurricane Florence.

4.     And finally, on the last Sunday, October 28, all are invited to bring in their Change for Good . Our Rally Day Gift this year is a coin bank (if you have not picked one up yet feel free to stop by church and grab one!). At the end of every month, we will be collecting the coins and designating the funds for outreach. This month the funds will go to relief and support work in the Merrimac Valley.
In the Family
Our sympathy is offered to two in our church family whose mothers passed away last week, Judy Colby and Jodi Garrigan. Prayers of healing would be appreciated for Anna Mei Gubbins who had her tonsils out on Tuesday, a tough surgery as an adult.
Your Help is Needed!
Hello First Baptist Family!

As many of you know, we strive to run strong and invitational children and youth programs here at FBC - programs that are open to our wider community and that offer support for children, young people, and families alike.

One of the core commitments we have long maintained is to never let financial barriers keep children or youth from full participation in our programming, and we have continued to honor that commitment over the years.

We are, however, coming up against gaps in our ability to fully meet these needs, and so we are striving to build up some additional funding to be used to assist and support our young people in attending and taking part in retreats, trips, the Allagash, and weekly church and youth fellowship events.

We have created an online giving campaign for this purpose; please consider a donation to support our youth programs, if you are able...and consider sharing with your own networks, if you are so inclined!

Thank you for all your support of our young people, in so many ways, over so many years!
Middle School Fellowship Movie this Sunday!
Middle School Fellowship will be watching a movie in the youth lounge on Sunday, October 7 from 4:00-6:00pm. Please bring a snack to share.
Congratulations to John DeNardo!
Congratulations to John DeNardo who, after an exhaustive ordination council, received the good news that the council voted to recommend to our church that we proceed with an ordination service for John (pending a call).

Tour the Garden School
FBC member Ben Zoba and his brother Jon, in 2016 launched their dream of "The Garden School," a spirit-filled place where graduates of high school or college can take a "gap year," learn to live in community, learn about agriculture through hands on work, and enter into deep conversation about meaning and purpose in life. Two years later, with support from First Baptist and other partners, "The Garden School" has harvested its first crop and begun to live into the dream. On October 7 th from 12: 30 p.m. – 2:00 p.m . Ben will be providing tours of the Garden School (on the site of Camp Mitchman) 36 Foster Street, Beverly.

Stop by as your schedule allows and enjoy seeing a dream become a reality!
