Ponderings On The Stock Market
Who would have imagined the stock market would rise so high and so quickly? With the “great recession” only a few years past, many are wondering when the next correction might be. Friends of the church lucky enough to have stock holdings might want to consider capturing some of the current high value by making a gift of securities to the church. We now have a brokerage account for that purpose. Gifts of securities are still tax deductible. Those over 70 have the option to meet the “required minimum distribution” by using securities held in IRA’s and other pension products and not have to pay income tax on the distribution. If you are interested, don’t hesitate to contact our Business Manager, John Thomson , (jcthomson@fbcbeverly.org).
