Holy Week Services/Events

Services will be held at noon, daily, April 11-15, here at FBCD, in conjunction with the Jefferson County Baptist Association.
Churchwide Cookout - Everyone is invited to this event sponsored by our Children’s and Student Ministries on Wednesday, April 13 at 5:30 PM at the Pavilion. There will be no other activities that evening. In case of rain, we will move to the Fellowship Hall.
Maundy Thursday Evening Service, April 14 - we will have our traditional Service of Shadows and Communion at 7:00 PM.
Easter Sunday, April 17 - we will have a normal Sunday morning schedule with 9:15 AM Sunday School and 10:30 AM Morning Worship Service.

Forget the Frock

Forget the Frock is a nationwide movement of people who decide to forgo spending money on new Easter attire and instead, use that money to buy t-shirts with the proceeds going to feed orphans, care for widows and spread the Good News. Our church is supporting the movement by encouraging members to buy a t-shirt from Feeding the Orphans and wear it Easter Sunday. The funds from your t-shirt will be used to care for vulnerable children in Africa and East Tennessee. If you would like to participate this year, please visit Forget the Frock at www.feedingtheorphans.com to purchase your shirt. The deadline to order shirts is April 4. Annie Armstrong Easter Offering

We will be collecting this offering for North American Missions over the next several weeks. 100% of your gifts will go towards supporting more than 2,200 missionaries and their families, enabling hundreds of churches to be planted and thousands of disciples to be made. Our church goal is $20,000.

Adult Sunday School Materials

Spring Sunday School materials are available for pickup in the Church Office.

Contribution Envelopes

Offering envelopes are now available for pick-up on the table in the hallway outside the Church Office. Please contact the Church Office if you have any questions or do not have personally assigned envelopes.

Vacation Bible School

It’s that time again! VBS is scheduled for June 13-17, 9 AM - noon, daily.

Here is a list of donations needed for decorations/crafts that can be left in designated bins at Miss Shelly’s office:

Children

Children’s Sunday School

For the month of April, we will leave the Route 66 material to do a special Easter focused curriculum called Easter Science. Each week we will follow the final days of Jesus on earth and use different science experiments to help us remember what Jesus did for us. This is a great study to invite friends to come be a part of!

RA Pinewood Derby Race

The race will be Friday, April 8 in the Fellowship Hall, beginning with a pizza dinner at 6:30 PM. The race will start at 7:00. Contact your RA leader for more details.

Journey Camp

Mission Possible is the theme for this 3-day camp for children who will have completed grades 3-6 by the end of the school year. It will be held at Carson Springs, June 27-29, and the cost is $90. Contact Miss Shelly to register by April 27. Scholarships are available upon request.
