A WORD FROM THE RECTOR
The Prayer for the Second Sunday of Advent
O God, whose glory it is always to have mercy: Be gracious
to all who have gone astray from your ways, and bring them
again with penitent hearts and steadfast faith to embrace and
hold fast the unchangeable truth of your Word, Jesus Christ
your Son; who with you and the Holy Spirit lives and reigns,
one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

Advent is a beautiful season of the Church Year, with special music and decorations in the church. It is also a time for special devotions. Here are some devotions that you can do with your family. There are also many resources available on the internet.

Rehearsals for the Christmas Eve Pageant began last Saturday at 9 a.m. and will be held every Saturday thereafter until Christmas. Come and join us! The Pageant is held that the 5 p.m. Service on Christmas Eve, Monday, December 24th.

This Sunday we will have a Lessons and Carols service at 8:30 a.m. This beautiful service involves congregational singing, as well as instrumental music and choir anthems between readings from Holy Scripture.

Donations for Christmas Poinsettias are due this Sunday.

The Church of St. Clement is supported entirely by your financial gifts. Each year the vestry asks each of us to prayerfully contribute to our operating budget, which includes the operations of the church, and its ministries and missions. If you were not here or did not turn in a pledge card for 2019, you may mail or bring it in to the church office, or put it in the offering basin next Sunday. Like most churches, we rely on end of year giving to make our budget. You may contribute with cash, check, or credit card at  http:// stclements.com/give   If you would like make a donation out of a retirement account as part of a Required Minimum Distribution, please email Karen Miller, our Financial Secretary at karen@stclements.com. Thank you for your faithfulness and generosity in your giving to the Lord to support His work through the Church of St. Clement.

We are looking for a person to fill our bookkeeper position, which is a part time (thirty hours per week) position that assists our Financial Secretary. Please contact Irene Taylor if you are interested in applying.

May you have a blessed Advent Season!

Yours in our Lord Jesus,

Bill Cobb+
