O God, whose glory it is always to have mercy: Be gracious
to all who have gone astray from your ways, and bring them
again with penitent hearts and steadfast faith to embrace and
hold fast the unchangeable truth of your Word, Jesus Christ
your Son; who with you and the Holy Spirit lives and reigns,
one God, for ever and ever. Amen.
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
Irene is out of town this week, so please contact Ericka at the front desk if you need something. Thank you all for supporting the Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper! It was a great time of fellowship and a successful fundraiser for the youth group. Please pray for the spring outreach next week with King's Kids of El Paso, that God would touch the hearts of all the young people that will be with us.
Every Wednesday during Lent, we will have a brief service at noon, with a light lunch following in the Mayfield Room. Our theme this year will be Aspects of Prayer as follows:
March 13 - Adoration - Acts 16:25
March 20 - Intercession - James 5:13-16
March 27 - Supplication - Philippians 4:6
April 3 - Thanksgiving - Ephesians 5:19-20
April 10 - Contemplation - Psalm 27:4
April 17 - Surrender - Matthew 26:39
Lenten Quiet Day
On Saturday, March 16th, we will be having a Quiet Day, or rather, a "quiet morning" from 8:30 a.m. to noon. The Daughters of the Holy Cross are hosting, and all are invited! It begins with a light breakfast, and then Fr. John Dixon will be sharing about the life and writings of George Herbert, an Anglican priest who lived in the 17th century, and one of the foremost English poets, who used his poetry to express the mysteries of Christianity: intimacy with God, the Sacraments, the Body of Christ, etc.
