O Lord, mercifully receive the prayers of your people who call upon you, and grant that they may know and understand what things they ought to do, and also may have grace and power faithfully to accomplish them; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.
Dear brothers and sisters in Christ,
This Sunday, we will be commissioning some twelve Stephen Ministers. The Stephen Ministry is an extension of pastoral care by the clergy, with lay men and women trained to listen to and compassionately walk alongside those who may be going through a difficult time. It is an expression of Christ's love for each and every member of the church. If you know someone who might benefit from having a Stephen Minister, please contact Diane Tatem, Denise Celani, or Bruce Meyer, or one of the clergy.
There are two construction projects that are going on at the church. First, our lift, or elevator, will be installed in the next couple of weeks. The ceiling of the vestibule of the Mayfield Room has been removed in order to make room for it to travel upstairs. Second, the set of chimes that Rick Garven obtained from Harding-Orr Funeral Home will be installed inside the organ chamber.
