Almighty and gracious Father, we give you thanks for the fruits of the earth in their season and for the labors of those who harvest them. Make us, we pray, faithful stewards of your great bounty, for the provision of our necessities and the relief of all who are in need, to the glory of your Name; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
Happy Thanksgiving! The clergy of St. Clements pray that you have a wonderful holiday with family or friends, with gratitude for all God's blessings!
Thank you to Linda Gunter and Irene for the receptions for the King Family last Sunday. We will miss them, but trust that our Father will bless them in their new home.
Please join us tomorrow evening, Wednesday, November 27th, for our
Thanksgiving Eve Service,
it will be at 7 p.m. NOTE: Don't let the staging for the Sunbowl Parade dissuade you from coming. Just tell the police that you are going to St. Clement's. They are grateful that we allow them to stage on our parking lots, so they will let you through without a problem.
On Thursday, November 28th, St. Clement's will have and
Thanksgiving Day Open House
and an outreach to those who are gathered for the beginning of the Sunbowl Parade. Come on down and have a good time with the youth as they pass out donuts and cocoa from 7:45 to 10:30 a.m. We appreciate the special donations that some of you made for the donuts!
This year, we will be having a worship service on the Saturday after Thanksgiving, November 30th, at 5 p.m.
Finally, this Sunday will be our Stewardship Sunday. Please pray about your commitment to God's work through St. Clement's in the year 2020.
Please join us for an Advent Quiet Day, on Saturday, December 7
, from 8:30-noon. It is sponsored by the Daughters of the Holy Cross; there will be breakfast, meditations, time to reflect and pray.
Lessons and Carols
The 8:30 a.m. service on the Second Sunday of Advent, December 8
, will be a “Lessons and Carols” service with Scripture readings and various musical offerings.
We are finally receiving the new 2019 Books of Common Prayer for our pews. We also bought some for those who wish to purchase them. Would you please consider making a donation of $20 for a Prayer Book for our pews. We will be happy to put a label with your name and in thanksgiving or in memory of someone you choose. The cost for purchasing a Prayer Book is also $20, which is our cost, including shipping.
In our Lord Jesus,
