Sarah M. Wales Scholarship

Applications for the Sarah M. Wales scholarship are now available. Originally intended as a scholarship for aspiring elementary school teachers, the Sarah M. Wales Scholarship now rewards aspiring teachers of all kinds as well as those pursuing higher education for careers involving teaching others in some way. To receive an application, call the church office at 401-762-2222 or email the office at stjameswoon@outlook.com.

First-time applicants must include with their application an unofficial transcript of high school grades and two letters of reference from high school. Applicants who have already received a scholarship may reapply including an unofficial transcript of college grades and a one-page assessment of their academic and personal growth during the school year.

The application deadline is June 1, 2026. The scholarship is open to any qualified applicant; special consideration is given to those with an association with St. James Episcopal Church.

Gardens up for Grab

The Food Bank has graciously agreed to tend the square patch with the Japanese maple tree outside the Atrium door. Kathryn Atkins has volunteered to try to get the "pit" area under the kitchen windows under control. We still need someone(s) to adopt the half circle gardens out front and along the chain link fence next to the ramps. Can you give us a hand? Grab your gloves and tools and come on down (or stay after church). (If you are willing to adopt, you can let Kim, Nancy or Shirley know.) If you just want to help a day at a time but don't want to do it alone, let Nancy know. She's always looking for gardening company! And she will even supply tools!

17th - Kathryn Atkins

18th - Bob Larder

22nd - William MacDonald

If your name has been omitted, please contact the parish office.
