EYC to Welcome Rite 13-ers
All youth, 13 and older, are invited to take part in the Rite 13 ceremony during the 10 a.m. service. Please sit together with your Sunday School teachers in the reserved pews on the pulpit side, where you will welcome the Rite 13 candidates at the conclusion of the ceremony.

Following the service, we'll gather for the Annual Parish Meeting. This year's meeting is especially important in this time of transition for the parish.
Parents please drop off your children, preschoolers through 5th grade, in the Parish Hall before getting a cup of coffee and returning to the Nave for the meeting. Kristin has snacks for them as well as a terrific activities. The nursery is, of course, open for younger children during the meeting.

Each week, St. Luke's publishes the "numbers" from the previous week. There are a lot of things about God - and St. Luke's - that are impossible to quantify; however, sometimes numbers help us understand our ministry and where it is heading.
Look for this weekly report in the Welcome insert of your bulletin and here in the
Shepherd's Notes

Super Bowl Traffic in St. Luke's Neighborhood
Except by volume, it doesn't look like the big game will affect traffic all that much around the church. But depending upon where you're driving from to get to St. Luke's, roads could be closed. Be sure to check on the
Georgia DOT for information or click below:

Wednesday, February 13
All St. Luke’s men - and their friends and colleagues - are invited for breakfast, fellowship and a program led by Interim Rector Ed Bacon. We begin with coffee at 7 a.m. in the Parish Hall. Breakfast ($5) is followed by a program from 8-8:30 a.m. Please RSVP online.

In January we're filling the baskets with coffee and fix-in’s for Church of the Common Ground (CCG). They need ground coffee, powdered creamer and sugar (one pound bags of sugar preferred). CCG is a worshiping community of the Episcopal Diocese of Atlanta. It is a “church without walls” on the streets of Atlanta, providing support for the pastoral and spiritual needs of women, men and youth who live on the margins of our city.

|
All youth are invited to gather at the home of the Putt family at 5:30 p.m. next Sunday, February 3 to watch the Super Bowl, hang out, and support the Midtown Assistance Center (MAC). Bring a can of soup or any item from MAC’s Amazon wish list, which is, ironically, 97.2% not-soup. Text Kristin for a link to the wish list and to RSVP (770-778-2653).

Would you like to commune and get to know other St. Luke’s parishioners in your community? This year, there will be an opportunity! These informal gatherings (Zip Code dinners) will take place in various communities within and surrounding Atlanta. Zip Code Dinners will give parishioners an opportunity to make new friends as well as visit with old ones! If you are interested in hosting a dinner, please contact Jessica Tonge (

Registration has closed for this new small-group adult ministry at St. Luke’s that is an outgrowth of the Invite-Welcome-Connect program. We are delighted that over 130 parishioners have registered to attend gatherings at 14 host homes and at the church in conjunction with Sunday 2.0. If you would like to be placed on a waiting list, please contact John Stewart at
johnstewartjr06@comcast.net and tell him which day(s) of the week and area of town interest you (ministry begins on January 21 and runs through February 28, and participants are asked to attend all six weekly dinners in the same home). Email confirmations were sent to all participants this past week, so please contact Sue McAvoy at
smcavoy@emory.edu if you have any questions or if you signed up and did not receive a message.
