Here is our second installment, just click the button below to take a look. Thanks to Sue McAvoy for shepherding this project.
Summer choir
Members of the congregation (high school age and above), friends, and visitors are all cordially invited to sing as part of the choir without a long-term commitment. This is a great opportunity to make new friends, enjoy the music in a different way, and enhance the liturgy. The three basic prerequisites are: 1) some ability to read music; 2) some previous choral experience; and 3) the ability to match pitch. No advance sign-up is required but you must attend the rehearsal on Sunday one hour before service time in the Choir Room. That’s 8 a.m. if you’d like to join the choir for the 9 a.m. service, and 10:15 a.m. for the 11:15 a.m. service. If you have questions, please contact Arlan Sunnarborg, director of music, by email ( or phone (404-873-7620).
Need a Good Samaritan?
While summer months are filled with vacation fun, they can also be stressful for some parishioners when family members are not around for their care.  St. Luke’s Good Samaritan ministry can help. Good Samaritan (GS) is a lay-led pastoral care team of lay members providing short term care to parishioners in need of care, such as errands to a doctor or grocery store, meal delivery, light housework, etc.  If you would like to receive care or volunteer, please contact  Jeanne Daniels, GS Lay Coordinator, ( or The Rev. Horace Griffin, associate for Pastoral Care (

Did you or your child misplace something around the time of VBS? You might want to check out the Lost and Found outside Kristin's office. It might have been found during the post-VBS cleanup!
Communication "upgrades"
We've been tweaking the way we store some of the information we distribute to the parish via the Internet. If you have any problem accessing photos or newsletters, or have any trouble whats-so-ever with the church's communications, please email to let us know:
