Coffee Time is back! First introduced in 2022, this summer sermon series returns with a fresh lineup of voices from the Old Testament. You’re invited to pull up a chair and share a cup of coffee with some of Scripture’s most memorable people. From warriors and kings to prophets and ordinary people called by God, each week explores a different biblical figure’s story, struggles, victories, and faith. Join us this summer as we revisit the concept with brand new conversations and timeless truths that still speak into our lives today.
This week, we'll sit down with Elijah—a mighty prophet who witnessed incredible miracles yet also experienced fear, loneliness, and discouragement. Though God used him in extraordinary ways, Elijah was, as Scripture says, "as human as we are." His story reminds us that God doesn't require perfect people to accomplish His purposes. He meets ordinary people in their weakness, renews their strength, and faithfully works through lives surrendered to Him.
You can read Elijah’s story in 1 Kings 17-21.
Elijah was as human as we are, and yet when he prayed earnestly that no rain would fall, none fell for three and a half years! - James 5:17, NLT
