How Capital Gets Allocated:
The GP and LP Perspective

Join us for a conversation on how institutional capital actually gets invested. Evan Lorey of ArrowMark Partners will share the general partner perspective on raising capital and positioning investment strategies with institutional investors. In the second half, Evan will interview Tom Lofton, Head of Private Credit at the New Mexico State Investment Council, to discuss how allocators evaluate managers and construct portfolios.
The discussion will provide students with a rare look at both sides of the capital table - how investment strategies are presented to investors and how institutional portfolios ultimately decide where to allocate capital.

Rainforest Pitch Competition
Wednesday, April 15, 5:30 p.m. | Bow & Arrow Brewing Co.
Submit a 90-second elevator pitch video (single take, no edits) for your business or idea. Applications due March 31. Finalists will be invited to pitch live at an evening reception on April 15, 2026 at 5:30 PM at Bow & Arrow Brewing in front of judges, entrepreneurs, and investors. The top winner chosen by audience vote will receive $2,000, with cash prizes awarded to all finalists.

Tech Navigator Challenge
Work with real technology from Sandia National Labs to create a commercialization plan no business background required. Teams receive mentorship, build a pitch and pitch deck, and present to judges for a chance to win up to $10,000 and earn 3 academic credit hours. Open to undergrad and grad students across New Mexico. Come with a team or get matched at the kickoff of the event.

Graduate Application is Open
Take the next step toward your graduate degree at the UNM Anderson School of Management. We use a holistic admissions process that considers GPA, work experience, program fit, and prerequisite coursework. Applicants must hold an earned bachelor’s degree prior to applying.
Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis, so early submission is encouraged to secure your spot and scholarship consideration. Multiple start dates are available throughout the year for domestic and international students.
