Women Airforce Pilots of WWII
Sunday, Nov. 2nd
2:00 pm
Presenter Rick Feingold will discuss the female pilots of World War II (WASP) who flew jets and sometimes new planes the men avoided. They ferried aircraft from the factory to airbases to free male pilots for combat. They endured discrimination and were paid less than men for the same job. The Women Air Force Service Pilots had no military standing and received no veteran’s benefits, but they proved women could fly planes as well as anyone, and in time, they received their due recognition.
Presented in honor of Veterans Day. Please R.S.V.P.
