BOZEMAN DOC SERIES: BRING THEM HOME

Bring Them Home tells the story of a small group of Blackfoot people and their mission to establish the first wild buffalo herd on their ancestral territory since the species’ near-extinction a century ago, an act that would restore the land, re-enliven traditional culture and bring much needed healing to their community. The film is narrated by academy-award nominee Lily Gladstone.

The film is a collaboration between Blackfeet directors Ivan and Ivy MacDonald and Bozeman-based director Daniel Glick. All three will be in attendance and take part in a Q&A after the film.

Bring Them Home world premiered at the recent Big Sky Documentary Film Festival, where it won the Big Sky Award, presented to a film that artistically honors the character, history, tradition, and imagination of the American West. The Big Sky festival jury wrote, “For its cinematic might; its unified collaborative vision; its hopeful energy; its full-hearted celebration of one of the most iconic symbols of the American West; and its comprehensive and constantly compelling investigation into such a complex, multi-faceted and marrow-deep subject matter; we bestow the Big Sky Award to Bring Them Home.”

Toby and Melinda forge a connection over this visitor and share curiosity and concern about his presence in the city. The coyote expands their world–until, one night, their world is shattered. Their lives are pushed suddenly into uncharted territory, sending them on a surreal odyssey that changes their city--and the world--forever.
