| | COMING SOON ON SEPTEMBER 12 | | Mark your calendars for Art Walk on September 12 from 5-8pm! We have some exciting happenings at the Emerson beginning that day and you'll want to swing by to check them all out! | |
Emma Bergman will be showing The Quiet Mundane in our Jessie Wilber Gallery with the opening on September 12 from 5-8pm during Art Walk.
"The Quiet Mundane captures everyday moments, creatures, and people from my life. My process is as much an approach to living as it is a body of work. Rather than viewing my life as a series of monumental moments, I am learning to appreciate the mundane, the repetitive, and the beauty of small things. Rather than letting the mundane slip by, I am attempting to bring the viewer’s focus to the little corner of the world that I inhabit. I believe by observing this, sitting with it for hours, and translating it into paint, I am elevating the mundane to something of importance, as something precious to be savored."

Russell Brausch will be showing Not So Far Away in our Lobby and Weaver Room Galleries. He will also be presenting on his work at 6pm during Art Walk!
"A century of fire suppression, the loss of Indigenous cultural burning, and climate change have created today’s wildfire crisis. It is not a matter of if a fire will come, but when. Federal land employees work tirelessly with little progress, caught between containing fires and restoring damaged landscapes. As hotter, drier climates push fire back into the land through both destruction and controlled burns, my creative process seeks to illuminate this complex history. Through painting, burning, drawing, and textiles, I open different entry points into the wildfire conversation. My research expands on acknowledging and redefining America’s relationship with fire."
| | Dan Haywood (Animoscillator) and Jacob Garvin (Sex the Cat) will be launching a pop-up titled "Just Friends" featuring a collaborative apparel line in the Emerson's Galleria Hall! They will also be also installing an immersive installation of originals to check out. Stop by beginning September 12 from 5-8pm during Art Walk! | |
Holiday Noir dazzles and delivers with an avant-garde spin on holiday festivities. Returning December 5 & 6, this 18+ variety show leans into satire, sass, and seasonal spectacle to deliver an alternative to more traditional holiday events. Now in its fourth year, Holiday Noir has quickly become a can’t-miss production, drawing packed houses and standing ovations for its fearless performances and inventive flair. And with auditions coming up at the end of September, you, too, can be a part of the magic!
Auditions will be held September 22, 23, and 24. Please come prepared with fully-choreographed, holiday-themed, show-stopping acts! The bar is set high this year, so don’t hold back (creativity is highly encouraged)!
We are looking for performers that are comfortable with 18+ material, and yes, you must be 18 to audition and perform. All types of performers/performances are welcome to audition!
