On Wednesday evening, I got to witness firsthand the cathartic experience of 13 women gathering, learning, laughing, and sharing stories (and some wine obviously..pros of having a bar in the art center!) during a sourdough bread class. Some came with a friend or family member(s), others by themself. Some regularly grace the rooms of the art center, some it had been a couple years since visiting the Warehouse, and there were three very excited newcomers. I kept popping in and out to take some photos/videos (was also working in the ceramics room during Open Studio time!) and was drawn in when I’d hear eruptions of laughter (and the delicious smell of all the bread/crackers/naan Susan Athens was demonstrating) from down the hall. With realized great privilege, I can say, we must continue to gather, to share, and to create during these days.
As we look through the rest of November, we have a lot of great classes, groups, events, and fundraisers coming up, and we’d love to see you participate in any or all! Any support, whether through taking a class (we’ve got a ton lined up for Wi-does week!) enjoying a free concert on Friday night, or buying mugs or wreaths during the fundraisers, would be greatly appreciated.
