This week... Clay Pot Wind Chime

Materials 3-5 small clay pots Washers with small openings Wood beads Twine Scissors Tape

Measure out about 3 feet of twine (more if you use 5 clay pots). Wrap tape on the end of the twine to keep it from fraying. Tie a knot at one end of the twine (It may require a double knot, so it does not get pulled through the hole on the washer or the clay pot). Thread the twine through the washer and then through the top of one pot.

Next thread a washer or wood bead into the long end of the twine and double tie it to the inside of the clay pot.

Then thread a wood bead onto the twine and tie it off at the bottom so it hits inside the clay pot, but closer to the bottom (this is the part that will hit against the edge of the pot and make noise). Continue this process for each of the pots until you have 3-5 pots on the twine.

Once you tie off the last bead inside the pot, you can tie beads or other items to the end of the wind chime for decoration.

Tie a loop in the top and hang from a hook. You can also paint the pots for added color.

Shade Tree Options for Ash Replacements – Garden Walk Wednesday, May 26, 6:00 – 7:30 p.m. Walk will be led by Mike Wendt, Retired Arborist. Mike will tour the gardens discussing appropriate, quality shade trees that can be planted to provide multiple seasons of interest. 2021 Wednesday Garden Walks will be: May 26 - June 23 - July 7 - July 28 August 18 - August 25.  We are not taking reservations for the walks. Maximum 10 people per walk.  If we reach our capacity of 10, guests may participate in a self-guided walk (instructions and map provided). A $5 dollar donation is requested. County Rules @ Boerner: *Social distancing and masks recommended.  *All attendees gather in front of building.   *Hand sanitizer will be available.
