This week...

Fabric Covered Flower Pots
Materials

  • Terracotta Pot
  • Cotton Fabric
  • Mod Podge
  • Sponge brush
  • Acrylic Paints
  • Scissors

Cut a length of fabric that will wrap around your pot on time. Leave extra at the top and bottom so you can fold it over.

Cut slits in the fabric around the top, to avoid puckering as you make your way around.

Coat a small section of the pot with Mod Podge.
Stick one edge of the fabric to the pot and, once it is in place, coat the fabric with Mod Podge.
Do this all the way around.

Do not worry about the top or bottom of the pot at this point.

When the fabric is glued to the outside of the pot, trim the fabric so that less than an inch hangs over the top and bottom.
Starting at the top, folding the fabric into the pot in pleats so that it lays flat over the edge. Coat in Mod Podge and let dry.

Do the same for the bottom, folding the fabric in pleats so that the bottom edge of the pot remains smooth.
If any parts of the fabric are loose, coat them with Mod Podge. Let the pot dry completely before using.

If planting directly into the pot, use a sealer to coat the inside of the pot so the water does not seep through the pot.
