Peninsula SunShares in Burlingame
Burlingame Residents Are Eligible for Low Cost Solar Energy
The City of Burlingame has joined the Peninsula SunShares initiative to help local property owners go solar. The initiative offers bulk rates with leading solar vendors to provide residents with significant discounts on solar installations. It is available to Burlingame's residential and commercial property owners and homeowners who work in Burlingame or a participating community.
"We are excited to offer Peninsula SunShares in Burlingame," Mayor Terry Nagel said. "This program eliminates the time and hassle of finding a solar energy contractor. It takes just a few minutes for residents who are interested to sign up for a free solar energy audit that can save energy and considerable money." Qualified and interested property owners should register by June 30th to receive a no-cost and no-obligation proposal. Once registered, Peninsula SunShares will coordinate scheduling a home solar evaluation with the program's pre-vetted, qualified solar installers. Following the visit, the installer will prepare a solar energy proposal with multiple financing options outlined, including direct purchase, leasing, power purchase agreements and Property Assessed Clean Energy (PACE) financing. If interested, property owners should then sign the solar energy contract by July 31th to take advantage of the discounted pricing. However, they have no obligation to move forward with the project; the SunShares program is entirely voluntary. For more information, please visit the Peninsula SunShares site. In addition, the Citizens Environmental Council of Burlingame, a local nonprofit organization, is hosting a free workshop, "Save Energy, Water and Money", on April 29th at 7:00 p.m. in the Lane Room at the Burlingame Main Library. SunShares, as well as PACE financing and other energy efficiency opportunities, will be discussed. |
