Second Public Outreach Meeting TODAY!

The City of Burlingame is pleased to invite the public to the second community meeting for the Carolan Avenue "Complete Streets" Project. As explained in the first public meeting, this project consists of modifying Carolan Avenue between Broadway and Oak Grove Avenue by changing the existing four lane street configuration to a two lane road with designated bike lanes and a center turn lane.   As part of this project, curb bulb outs, pedestrian safety enhancements, landscaping, and storm water treatment facilities will be added in certain locations.

This second community meeting will present information and preliminary plans on design alternatives which incorporate desired elements brought forth at the previous public meeting.

Please join City staff and project team members to learn about the project and give your feedback on design options. There will be an interactive question and answer period with the project team immediately following the presentation.

Burlingame Police Department

In response to recent public postings on various social media sites about a perceived increase in residential burglaries in Burlingame, the Burlingame Police Department has turned to Nixle and Facebook to provide facts and suggestions about burglary prevention.

In addition, the Police Department reports that the City of Burlingame has had only 6 reported residential burglaries or attempted residential burglaries to date in 2015 - down an estimated 50% from the number of residential burglaries reported last year during this time frame and in previous years.
