waterWinter Water Conservation
Keep up the effort!

Although El NiƱo will bring us much-needed rain, our state's severe drought will continue, and the City asks that all citizens and local business owners continue to save water. Though winter decreases the need for outdoor water usage on landscaping and gardens, it is still important to remain mindful of indoor water conservation. Installing low flow shower heads is a great way to enjoy a warm shower while saving water and energy. Washing dishes, especially after those big holiday dinners, is more efficiently done by scraping food off plates and using a water and energy-efficient dishwasher than by handwashing. If you must rinse your dishes, however, aerators are a great way to reduce water usage from household faucets. Temperature fluctuations during these cold months may also cause your water pipes to expand and contract which may lead to leaks, so make sure to have your water system checked for leaks this winter.
