ConstructionCalifornia Dr. Sewer Main Construction Postponed
Now expected to begin next Tuesday, October 13

As part of 2015 Sanitary Sewer Capital Improvements Program, the City's contractor, K.J. Woods, will be replacing a portion of the sanitary sewer main along California Drive, between Sanchez Avenue and Palm Drive. Construction work will occur Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and is expected to last one month.

The construction work will affect northbound and southbound traffic on California Drive.  At least one lane of traffic in both directions will be maintained at all times throughout the construction duration.  City staff will work with the contractor to minimize traffic delays and inconvenience.  Please use caution while driving through the construction area.  Your patience and cooperation are greatly appreciated.
visionWhat's your vision for Burlingame?
First Envision Burlingame Workshop on October 24

How do you want Burlingame to look, function, and feel 25 years from now? The City is working to answer that question with Envision Burlingame, and they need your input! Envision Burlingame is the City's community-driven planning process to update the General Plan and Zoning Ordinance - the two documents that regulate all land use, environmental and transportation decisions made by City leaders.
The process will include a variety of opportunities for residents, business owners, and other community members to engage in comprehensive discussions regarding mobility, urban design, recreation and parks, health, natural resources, and economic development. This project will produce long-term strategies for preserving and enhancing what we love about Burlingame, while making improvements where needed.
The first opportunity to get involved is coming up!  Attend the first Envision Burlingame Community Workshop on Saturday, October 24, from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. at the Burlingame Recreation Center at 850 Burlingame Ave. The event will be held as an open house, so feel free to drop in any time between 10am and 2pm to join your neighbors and city staff in creating a vision for Burlingame's future. The workshop will be interactive and family-friendly. All are welcome.
To find out more about Envision Burlingame, sign up for updates, and hear about upcoming ways to share your ideas, visit www.envisionburlingame.org.

websiteCity Plans to Improve Website
Request for proposals to be issued on October 30th

The City has recently begun the challenging but exciting process of improving its website, www.burlingame.org.  Working with a volunteer team of community advisors that are experts in website design and development, the City is in the process of developing a request for proposals ("RFP") that will be distributed on October 30, 2015.

The City will use Google Analytics data, as well findings from the recent user survey that was posted on this e-newsletter, to understand improvement opportunities and priorities. Based upon the recent survey findings, visual appeal, ease of use, and organization of information are the most important areas of focus for our residents, businesses and community coming to work in Burlingame.

The current RFP schedule assumes a March 28, 2015 project start date and an end-of-year 2015 launch for the new website. For more information, please contact Nil Blackburn, Assistant to the City Manager at [email protected].
