Last week, the County Election's Office certified the November 3, 2015 Election. For a breakdown of how votes were cast in each race click on the Statement of the Vote.
 
Thank you to all candidates for participating in the electoral process and congratulations to Emily Beach and Donna Colson for winning the two Council seats for the City of Burlingame. Please come and help welcome them to the Council on Monday, December 7, when they are sworn in. As well, come and thank Mayor Nagel and Councilmember Root for their service on December 7at their last meeting.
Also, congratulations to the City of Burlingame. In the 2013 Election, 33% of registered voters voted in the City Council Contest. This year, the City increased its voter participation to 37%. The City's voter participation level of 37% bested the countywide percentage of 29.5% by 8%!
Lastly, remember with the June Presidential Primary only 189 days away it's never too early to register to vote   and to start researching the candidates and measures on the ballot.

San Mateo County is offering a free webinar and 8-week courses focused on reducing waste, composting, and recycling. Learn hands-on from local experts and gain skills to become a Master Composter or Master Resource Conservationist.
  • Resource Conservation 101 Webinar: December 10, 2015 from 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.
  • 8-week Master Resource Conservation Course: January - March 2016, at the Burlingame Main Library
  • 8-week Master Compost & Solid Waste Course: February - March 2016. Location TBD.

Come celebrate the holidays in downtown Burlingame. 
Join the community in front of City Hall at 501 Primrose at 5:00 p.m. for the annual tree lighting ceremony followed by the Holiday Parade on Burlingame Avenue beginning at 6:00 pm.   After the parade, there will be rides for children on the 1100 block of the Avenue and a stage on Primrose with live entertainment until 9:00 p.m. Santa will be under the pergola by the Gap until 8:30 p.m. and there will be complimentary kiddie train rides up and down the street, with loading and unloading taking place near the Sunglass Hut on the 1300 block. Broadway Cheer

Broadway Merchants and the Burlingame Chamber of Commerce invite you to come and share the holidays on Broadway and enjoy local holiday music.  In addition, please bring a toy or purchase a toy on Broadway for the Holiday Toy Drive sponsored by the Central County Fire Department.

Central County Fire Department offers adult and child CPR Training. You will be trained by a CPR instructor who is an experienced staff member of the Central County Fire Department. You will also be trained on using an AED.

Join Moms Against Poverty in partnership with Central County Fire and the Burlingame Youth Advisory Committee for the Holiday Helping Hand Toy Drive event. This will be a day of gift wrapping donated toys for families in need these holidays. Come with your families and bring your donations, big or small! Visit the Caltrain Holiday Train
Saturday, December 5 from 5:15 p.m. - 5:35 p.m.
Burlingame Caltrain Station

Come to the Burlingame Caltrain station to meet Santa at the 13th annual Holiday Train Saturday, December 5. Glowing with thousands of lights and holiday decorations, the train will stop at nine train stations over two nights. During the 20-minute station stops, Santa, Mrs. Claus, Frosty and the gang will get off the train to greet children. Arrive 30 minutes before the train arrives to enjoy a performance by the Peninsula Girls Choir.

The Holiday Train is more than a glittering feast for the eyes - it's also an opportunity to donate new toys or books to local children. Caltrain partners with the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots and The Salvation Army to help make the season brighter for families struggling to make ends meet.

Chanuka in Burlingame
Thursday, December 10 beginning at 6 p.m.

Come and celebrate Chanuka in Burlingame on Thursday, December 10, with live music, hot latkes and performances by the Red Panda Acrobats from 6 to 7 p.m. near the Apple Store at 240 Park Road. There will be a Menorah Lighting at 6:30 p.m.  Click here for more details.
