In this new edition of Arts on Tap, artist, curator, and co-founder of the recently launched Latinx Artist Registry & Directory - MantecaHTX - Theresa Escobedo shares exhibition highlights from Houston's first-ever Spring of Latino Art (Feb 1 - May 31). 


#1 Artist's Choice pick for this week's Art on Tap is the Carlos Cruz- Diez commissioned site-specific digital installation Spatial Chromointerference (Sun, Jan 20 - Sun, Apr 7, 2019).

Up next - Radical Memory (Feb 1 - April 13), which features selected works from the collection of Gilberto Cardenas, a prominent researcher and advocate for Latino artists and communities across the country.

Wrapping up this selection is a fresh event this weekend: an Artist Talk with Darwin Arevalo & Grace Zuniga, presented this Saturday, 2-4 PM in conjunction with Prima Materia, on view now at The Union (Jan 19 - March 9). This engaging artist talk will be followed immediately in the same venue by a MantecaHTX Open Call Info Session, sharing exhibition opportunities with artists interested in presenting their work during SOLA and the forthcoming Latino Art Now! conference.
