At this Sunday's service, Rev. Polly will celebrate Hope Sunday by continuing our "Angels Among Us" series. She'll preach about the angel Gabriel's visit to Mary (Luke 1: 26–38). We'll sing Marty Haugen's Magnificat from the Holden Evening Prayer.

• Choir rehearsal (9 am)
• Meeting to approve church budget (11 am)
• Hymn Sing with Many Journeys MCC (11:15 am)
• Christmas Smorgy / holiday party (6 pm)
Memorial for Scott McMahon Saturday
Scotty Kirk’s partner Scott McMahon passed away peacefully at home on Nov 24. After a diagnosis last year of malignant melanoma, he pursued extensive medical interventions. When his disease showed widespread progression, he made the courageous decision to spend his remaining months in hospice care.  Read his obituary.

Family and friends are invited to a memorial gathering on Sat, Dec 7 at St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church (1501 S. El Camino Real, San Mateo, CA). Scotty will receive friends in the sanctuary starting at 1 pm, with a memorial service at 2 pm.
Join us for Christmas caroling on Wed, Dec 18
Join us on Wed, Dec 18 for Christmas caroling in our neighborhood. We'll meet at 7 pm at the church, then go sing carols for our neighbors (perhaps including the shopping center)! Then we'll come back to the church for cookies and cider. All are welcome. Feel free to invite friends or neighbors.
Saturday yoga and sound healing event
This Saturday from 4–6 pm in our sanctuary, join restorative yoga teacher Ranya Anabtawi for a sound healing journey with Forrest Newmann. Ranya writes: “Restorative yoga is physically relaxing and emotionally healing. Your heart rate drops, your busy mind frees itself from the workplace grind, your body releases tension, and creativity expresses itself more fluently. There is no stretching, athleticism, sweating, or difficulty in restorative yoga.” More info.
Volunteer for Home & Hope’s gift wrapping fundraiser
Join members of Many Journeys and College Heights as we wrap gifts at the Stanford Shopping Center. This is the largest fundraiser of the year for Home & Hope, which provides emergency housing for homeless families. We'll wrap gifts that shoppers have purchased, and in return they'll make a donation to Home & Hope. It's a fun and festive way to raise money for a great nonprofit.

We still need volunteers for Dec 16, and 21. Sign up for a volunteer shift here.
