This Week's Announcements | |
A brief graveside service will be held for long time member of Chatham UMC, Dave Wilcox, on Sunday, October 24th at 11:30 AM in the Memorial Garden.
Dave entered Life Eternal on April 15, 2021. He was quick with a joke, loved to tell stories about his many experiences and friendships at church, and talk about whatever sport was in season. Let us keep his wife, Peggy, and daughters Nancy and Ellen in our prayers.

All Saints Day Service Sunday, November 7th
Sunday, November 7th will be our All Saints Day Special Service at 10:00 AM. This is an ancient tradition in which Christians remember loved ones who have finished their courses in faith, and now live in the heavenly realm. We will light candles in their memory, speak their names, toll the bell, and give God thanks for their lives and their homecoming into Eternal Life.
Beginning this Sunday, October10th, a list of names of loved ones will be located outside the Sanctuary. We invite you to add names to this list if your loved one is not on it. This list will be outside the Sanctuary until Sunday, October 31st. Please call the church office at (973) 635-7440 or email [email protected] if you would like to add a loved one to this list but are unable to come to the Sanctuary.
Deadline for all name submissions is Monday, November 1st at 10:00 AM.

The Adult Discussion Group meets Sunday mornings at 11:15am in the Asbury Room, adjacent to the sanctuary. For this week’s lesson, read Mark 10: 17-31 about the rich man who wanted to know how he could receive eternal life. What would you be willing to give up in this life to receive eternal life?
You can see our Reflection Questions on the music stands near the Asbury Room and in the Narthex. Interested? Contact Ron Yarger at [email protected] or 973-722-7190. We welcome you for one session or many.

Family Promise News and Opportunities
Our next and final hosting week in 2021 is November 14 through 21. It will follow the same pattern as our last week in the summer — delivering home made or restaurant meals to the families staying in hotel. Please stay tuned for more details on how you can help.
Over the course of the pandemic, there has sadly been a new scope of basic need right here in Morris County. When the eviction moratorium is lifted in NJ at the end of the year, hundreds of renters will experience homelessness and housing insecurity. Family Promise is working hard to ensure that no one go without shelter or a home.
To help they are holding their first annual 5K Race and 1 Mile Walk, called the Homebound Hustle Homebound Hustle 5K on Saturday, November 6, 2021. Click Here for Information. All proceeds will support families and individuals experiencing homelessness in Morris County. Please consider challenging yourself to walk the 5K or 1 mile to support those experiencing housing insecurity or impending eviction.
