Dear Friend,
Borough Hall and all of Brooklyn were buzzing with activities this weekend, despite the rain!
On Saturday, we co-hosted ‘Adopt-A-Pet’ with the Animal Care Centers of NYC and ASPCA, helping to find a total of 28 shelter cats and dogs a loving family and home.
The next day, you might have seen us and just about everyone in Downtown Brooklyn celebrating our small businesses at the 47th Annual Atlantic Antic! A day of food and fun, we’re already excited for next year. Also on Sunday, we welcomed back the city’s largest literary festival, the Brooklyn Book Festival, at Borough Hall. Hundreds of authors, publishers, and bookworms came together to experience the power of literature, share stories, and browse tons of books.
But enough about this weekend, because we have some fun things ahead that we can’t wait to see you at.
On Thursday, October 13, the celebration for our Latino communities continues at Brooklyn Borough Hall! Join us from 12 to 2PM at Borough Hall Plaza for some lunchtime music and live performances. The following Thursday, October 20, Borough Hall will be celebrating our Polish neighbors with an evening of tradition and culture! We hope you’ll save the dates and join us!
Last but not least, we’re excited to announce that starting October 12, weekly constituent walk-ins will be open every Wednesday from 9am to 3pm at Brooklyn Borough Hall. As a reminder, we’ll still have a constituent services representative at the Brooklyn Central Library on Thursdays from 10AM to 6PM. Come to us with questions, to share your experiences, or just to say hi – we love meeting with you and are always happy to help in any way we can.
Happy October!
Antonio Reynoso
Brooklyn Borough President
