Hi Everyone!

Hope everyone enjoyed the sunny but brisk weekend. I actually got to ride both Saturday and Sunday. For those of you that do not know me personally, I rescued a horse from a kill pen in December (Merry Christmas to me), he is a 16.3, teenage Belgian named Atticus Banks. He was in very sad shape when he got here on December 27th but thanks to Andrea at Long Ear Rescue for doing his 30 days Quarantine, great friends for helping get him here, fabulous vet and a great farrier he is coming along nicely. He certainly has captured my heart. I will keep you updated on his progress.

I wish I could say my experiment with group housing for our two ponies came from a virtuous desire to do what was best for their health based on the latest equine research. In truth, putting the ponies together in one large stall was about necessity, about working with what we had. And what we had in 2010 was one large, wide-open space in a long-neglected pre-Civil War stone bank barn. We had just moved to our small farm in southeastern Pennsylvania and were eager to bring Cupcake and Falcon home.
