Letter from the Director - David Elkins

Greetings Safe Harbor family and friends. We are definitely living in exciting times at Safe Harbor with our program doubling in size, understanding the dynamics of working with 70 men instead of 36. The new program structure (12 months) a year in place, the men are getting an opportunity to have more personal studies as well as group studies, with opportunity to plan a successful future.

With the new residential cottages at full capacity the men are enjoying the upgraded living conditions and the convenience of the design. Working hard to upgrade our infrastructure to accommodate 70 men, with several donations we have been able to start our new pavilion for visits and gatherings, had several donations for our kitchen to upgrade our appliances, and plans to put in a basketball /pickleball court this year. God is Good!

Above all the most exciting times at Safe Harbor are when men realize they are Spiritually dead and Cry out to Jesus for His new life in them! If any man be in Christ, he is a new creation, old things pass away, behold all things become new! No matter what is happening, there is no greater reward or joy than to see Jesus transform a life into a Man of God!

In closing, I want to thank all our friends, volunteers, donors, and partners who have come along side us in discipling the men of Safe Harbor and providing life changing opportunities for them.

Staff of the Quarter - Jeremy Shelton

As Program Coordinator Jeremy has done a excellent job in understanding the dynamics of what needs to happen on a daily basis and coordinating with other staff, judicial contacts, clients, as well as our surrounding community in getting the job done. Jeremy has initiated relationships with several agencies that has blessed us with donations ranging from food, clothing, and equipment. We are very fortunate to have Jeremy as part of our leadership team and look forward to seeing how God uses him to Make a Difference in the lives of the men who come through Safe Harbor!
