Letter from the Director

Good day and many blessings from all the staff at Safe Harbor of Bucksnort. Reaching out to those at their lowest through the power of the highest.

My name is Chris Somerville, and I am the new Director for the Bucksnort facility. I would like to state that Bucksnort is a marvelous facility. We are constantly on the move here; looking for new ways to improve and brighten up the property. This year the clients are looking forward to our family day celebration. We have two a year that include a waterslide, bounce house and other games for the kids. We feed everyone and give out prizes to the families. The purpose of these celebrations is to give the families the opportunity to see their loved ones and see the change God is doing in their lives so everyone can begin to create new memories and renew connections.

FIND OUT HOW

Walking in Safe Harbor of Bucksnort, I was immensely impressed at the professionalism and dedication of the staff. Each department head is focused on their tasks while wearing other hats assisting each other to better server these men. Larry Hughes, our Reliable Coordinator, works tirelessly to vet our clients and place them in the best possible job. Deeply ingrained in the recovery community is Julius Turnipseed. He networks with courts, probation/parole officers, lifeliners, rehabilitation centers, and word of mouth to extend Safe Harbor's hand to men in need. Jared Sells and Rodney Whidby or Program Coordinators, are on site to meet clients needs on a daily basis. Chaplain is George Vanzandbergen a friend, a counsellor, a pastor, and a shoulder to lean on. I have seen him build good raport with the clients. Those relationships he builds are priceless and are a good start for moving forward.

Here in Bucksnort we are striving to help each man with: Knowing God, Finding Freedom, Discovering Purpose and Making a Difference. Those core principles are a substantial foundation to build upon. To anyone reading this, if there is someone that you know needing our program, please feel free to call upon us.

Partner of the Quarter - NEMAK

Nemak employs nine of our current clients and several graduates of Safe Harbor of Bucksnort. They give our clients amazing opportunities once they transition to full time employment, understanding that recovery is a process and helping our guys anyway they can through that process. Bucksnort thanks Nemak for all they do, and looks forward to the future as we continue to provide permanent employees for their fast growing company.
