5 Peter therefore was kept in prison: but prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for him.

5 Peter, therefore, indeed, was kept in the prison, and fervent prayer was being made by the assembly unto God for him,
I rarely use another translation of the Bible other than the KJV, BUT when I used my Bible software to find this Story, it used the “(YLT) translation and I like the use of the Word “FERVENT.”
James 5:16 (KJV)
16 Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.
“THE EFFECTUAL FERVENT PRAYER OF A RIGHTEOUS MAN AVAILETH MUCH!!!!!!!!!!”
FERVENT-from <G1756> (energes); to be active, efficient :- do, (be) effectual (fervent), be mighty in, shew forth self, work (effectually in).

To be “straight” with you, too often I become tired and disillusioned with my “prayers.”
I wonder if they are IN-effectual and useless?????
AND, we have all TOO OFTEN sadly remarked, “ALL I CAN DO IS PRAY FOR YOU!!!!”
BUT, does not our Bible urge us to:
1 Thessalonians 5:17 (KJV)
17 Pray without ceasing.
Galatians 6:9 (KJV)
9 And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.
AND, did our Lord and Savior also teach:
Luke 18:1 (KJV)
1 And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint;
There is the use of one of my FAVORITE Words-
FAINT-from <G1537> (ek) and <G2556> (kakos); to be (bad or) weak, i.e. (by implication) to fail (in heart) :- faint, be weary.Strong's Talking Greek & Hebrew Dictionary.
FAINT-TO LOVE COURAGE OR HOPE/TO GIVE UP!!!!!!!!!!!
Do YOU ever feel like GIVING UP!!!?????
Too often, our Bible read like a mere Algebra text book and Heaven seems like it is Armour plated..........................
In fact, just this week Gos spoke to me and reminded me that:

1 Behold, the LORD'S hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear:
SHORTENED-a primitive root; to dock off, i.e. curtail (transitive or intransitive, literal or figurative); especially to harvest (grass or grain) :- × at all, cut down, much discouraged, grieve, harvestman, lothe, mourn, reap (-er), (be, wax) short (-en, -er), straiten, trouble, vex. Now, may we turn our attention to Acts Chapter 12:

5 Peter therefore was kept in prison: but prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for him.
Peter was in prison and it was IMPOSSIBLE for anyone to free him-humanly speaking!!
BUT, “PRAYER was made WITHOUT CEASING of the CHURCH unto God for him.”
GOD ANSWERED THIS PRAYER, BUT..........................
Acts 12:13-16 (KJV)
13 And as Peter knocked at the door of the gate, a damsel came to hearken, named Rhoda.
14 And when she knew Peter's voice, she opened not the gate for gladness, but ran in, and told how Peter stood before the gate.
15 And they said unto her, Thou art mad. But she constantly affirmed that it was even so. Then said they, It is his angel.
16 But Peter continued knocking: and when they had opened the door, and saw him, they were astonished.
My point today is that WHEN God answered their PRAYER-they were in the very midst of a PRAYER MEETING, and Peter appeared at their very door:
'THEY WERE ASTONISHED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”
Acts 12:15 (KJV)
15 And they said unto her, Thou art mad. But she constantly affirmed that it was even so. Then said they, It is his angel.
In fact, they said she was MAD/CRAZY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
WE MUST LEARN A LESSON ON PRAYER FROM THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
“THE LAST DEJECTED EFFORT (PRAYER) OFTEN BECOMES THE WINNING STROKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”
I write today's sermon as much if not more for myself!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The QUESTION is..................
Do WE really BELIEVE that:
Ephesians 3:20 (KJV)
20 Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,
IS HE??????????????????????????
OR....... IS ONE “MAD/CRAZY” TO BELIEVE IN SPITE................
