Family Literacy Nights
United States
With a generous grant of $213,000 from the City of Concord, California, we have embarked on an exciting two-year, multi-school literacy project! We are hosting two on-campus Family Literacy nights at ten Concord elementary schools to advance early literacy and encourage parent engagement. We launched the project in the fall of 2023 by hosting three events at three different schools. Fun and festive, our family literacy nights celebrate the joys of reading and the value of early literacy. Supported by our Coloring Futures initiative, our Family Literacy Night project will benefit more than 4,000 students in the Mt. Diablo Unified School District (Contra Costa County) during the 2023–2024 and 2024–2025 school years.

K-12 Scholarships
Cambodia; Haiti; India; Nepal
More than 125 Yours Humanly scholars in Cambodia, Haiti, India, and Nepal are enjoying another year of schooling through our K–12 Scholarship Program, a central component of our Coloring Futures initiative. The annual scholarships are at the core of what we do for desperately impoverished children: fully funding their educational experience from placement in their local school through high school graduation, as well as enrolling them in ESL and computer instruction classes and seeing to their housing and living needs to ensure their academic success. This is an ongoing program of annual individual scholarships, funded and managed every year for another year of schooling.

Robotics Programs in the Classroom
United States
On October 19, on the campus of Mt. Diablo High School, Yours Humanly presented the Mt. Diablo Education Foundation with a check for $12,000 to go toward robotics programs in the Mt. Diablo Unified School District (Contra Costa County). More than a science, robotics mixes complex math with art, programming, and engineering, encouraging curiosity and helping young people develop logical thinking skills and problem-solving mindsets. The funds for this donation, which is supported by our Bridging Gaps initiative, were raised at our annual Break a Sweat for Education® 5K Run & Walk, held on September 30. We offer our deepest thanks to all who stepped forward to support the educational journeys of children and youth in need.

Scholar Graduates High School
Cambodia
Double congratulations are in order for our new Yours Humanly scholar, who has completed her high school education through our K-12 Scholarship Program, earning her high school diploma! At the same time, she has completed all 12 levels of ESL instruction, funded by Yours Humanly, also earning her ESL diploma and marking her fluency in the English language! Congratulations to this young scholar, whose K-12 education and enhanced opportunities in life are made possible through the kindness of our supporters.

Kindergarten Graduates
Haiti
Thirteen precious Yours Humanly scholars in Hinche, Haiti, have graduated kindergarten and have now started first grade. Through our Yours Humanly K-12 Scholarship program, we are supporting these young scholars’ education by covering the full costs of tuition, uniforms, mid-day meals, books, study materials, school supplies, and all other educational needs from placement through 12th grade graduation. This is an exciting time for our scholars! We’re thrilled to support them and we wish them the very best as they continue their educational journey!
