WAIM Hosts Voter Registration Day on October 15!

Swing by WAIM on Thursday, October 15, from 9 am to 12 pm if you still need to register to vote ahead of November's midterm election! To register, bring one of the following: Connecticut learner's permit, Connecticut non-driver ID number, Connecticut driver's license number, last four digits of your Social Security Number.

If you do not have any of the above IDs, you can provide a copy of one of the following: utility bill, bank statement, government check, paycheck showing your current name and address, or a government-issued document that shows your current name and address.

Important: Citizens 18 and older at the time of the election with a felony record, including those out on probation and parole, are eligible to vote in the state of Connecticut! Voting rights are automatically reinstated upon release. Click here to check if you are registered, and if so, in the appropriate location. Click here for a handy voters' rights guide.

Save the Date: Walk for Warmth 2026!

Every year, hundreds of Windham area residents participate in WAIM's Walk for Warmth because they believe their neighbors ought to remain in warm, safe, dignified housing. This year's Walk is on Sunday, November 22, from 12:30 to 4:30 starting at Temple Bnai Israel at 383 Jackson Street in Willimantic. Many thanks to our dear friends at the synagogue for hosting!

Click here to register. Visit waimct.org/walk for more information.

It's Fall & Winter Fashion Season at WAIM!

You have likely noticed a slight chill in the air in recent mornings. Help our community members stay warm by donating gently used cool- and cold-weather clothing items, as well as space heaters that are in good shape. We often have a harder time stocking men's winter clothes, gloves, and (new :) boxers and boxer briefs.

WAIM accepts material goods donations from 9 am to 12 pm, Tuesday through Saturday at our Riverside Drive entrance. As always, thank you for your generosity!

Volunteer Spotlight

Marie has volunteered at WAIM for a year and a half! She most often works in WAIM's pantry area, helping customers find household goods that best fit their needs. We are grateful!
