Every day my clients and employees ask me, "How do I focus better?" A lot contributes to your ability to focus. What you are focusing on might be in conflict with your values. You may be judging your progress against someone else's and focusing on the wrong thing. You might be running towards expectations or away from something that is unresolved.
Three Mindful Questions to Help You Focus:
1. What is important to me right now?
2. What is in my way of me spending time on that?
3. What will I eliminate that brings me back to what matters right now?
Often we think we need to add something to our lives to make them more meaningful or productive or happy based on our projection of what "should be." The real question is what needs to go to bring you back to the moment. This moment holds what is real. Everything else is not.
