Kentucky FFA Foundation Awards Rising Sun Grants to Three New Chapters
The Rising Sun Initiative is an effort led by the Kentucky FFA Foundation to support the expansion of agricultural education in Kentucky. It provides a one-time grant for up to $5,000 to a school that opens an agricultural education program or for a program in transition. The initiative is funded through the Project LEAD Endowment.

We are pleased to have awarded three new chapters Rising Sun Grants this year!
Beaumont Middle School
The Beaumont Middle School Chapter used their Rising Sun Grant to purchase a set of middle school FFA jackets as well as supplies for SAE projects that they are planning to complete as a class next semester. They plan to implement students' knowledge of plants in class to cultivate produce in grow towers to enjoy with their classmates.
Williamsburg City School
Williamsburg City School used their Rising Sun Grant to help students attend the Kentucky FFA Convention in Lexington and FFA Camp this summer.

"We are so grateful for the investment that The Kentucky FFA Foundation has taken in our small school doing big things!" said Toraleah Shelley, agriculture teacher at Williamsburg City School.

Principal Marc Taylor added, "We are excited with the addition of our new FFA chapter and the development of the new pathway. This financial support helps us provide more student learning opportunities and we are very appreciative."
Christian County Middle School

The Christian County Middle School chapter plans to use its Rising Sun grant to purchase a set of FFA official dress and Discovery Degree awards as well as to help send more members to FFA camp this summer.
