Scrappy, Savannah, and Sanford
Three Newport wins, three Newport leaders, one summer ahead.
|
|
Coming out of Myrtle Beach, one phrase stuck. Scrappy always wins. Stuart Butler said it on day one of the 2026 Leadership Retreat, and it has shown up in almost every conversation since.
This month, three of our leaders make the case for what scrappy actually looks like, and our properties are putting it into practice in real time.

A New Front Door in Sanford
We officially opened the doors of Comfort Inn & Suites Orlando Sanford Airport on May 14, joined by owners, partners, and the local team that brought this property to life. Newport now operates a dual-property presence in Sanford, anchored by a sales team that already knows the market well.

LIVING HOSPITALITY
Showing Up for Our Communities
National Tourism Day looks different at every Newport property because every community is different. From Brunswick to Columbus, our teams stepped out from behind the front desk to thank the partners, clients, and neighbors who make our markets work.
War Room Energy
Every sales office in the portfolio ran the Q2 Champion Challenge Call-A-Thon this week. One full day, dedicated entirely to connecting with clients. The leaderboard is fun. The real point is what it always is, picking up the phone and showing up.
