President's Report

By Daniele Gerard

“Why, where in all history has there ever been a people so ripe for a dictatorship as ours!”

― Sinclair Lewis, It Can’t Happen Here

As we continue to watch the horrors emanating from this administration—torturing children in immigrant detention, eliminating due process, arresting members of Congress, gutting Medicaid, wrecking the planet, betraying our allies, eviscerating scientific research—we have several opportunities to show our resistance to the fascist kleptocracy. Please vote in the June primary for our endorsed candidates, download and distribute this Dear Neighbor letter and this palm card, and volunteer with Three Parks at upcoming tables and subways. Early voting is from June 14 through 22, and June 24 is election day. Make your vote count and make your voice heard by filling out all five slots on your ranked choice ballot—with Brad Lander first and Scott Stringer second for mayor. And join us on Wednesday, June 11 as we hear from the NYCLU’s Donna Lieberman as she reviews Trump’s war on the law, lawyers, and judges.

Don’t let Washington succeed in its attempts to frighten or exhaust us into submission!

As Primary Day Approaches, Three Parks Goes All Out for Our Endorsed Candidates

From now until Primary day on June 24, Three Parks is planning a full slate of campaign activities in support of our endorsed candidates - including weekly sidewalk canvassing and regular flyer distribution at subway stations and other locations. Watch your email for information on dates, times, and locations. Meanwhile, here are some photos of our volunteers with the candidates.

Coming on July 23!

Our Annual Potluck Picnic will be held on Wednesday, July 23, from 5:00 to 7:30 PM in Central Park, on the Pool lawn just inside the entrance at W. 103rd Street and Central Park West.

Since there are no club meetings in July and August, the picnic is the perfect opportunity for club members to share a lovely evening in the park, socializing with friends and elected officials. And part of the fun is bringing a potluck dish (serving four to six people) to share with fellow club members.
