As the president and his cronies continue to line their pockets, including by lying about wars of choice; the governor does nothing to provide funding for health care under looming Medicaid cuts, all while rolling back climate change laws; and the Supreme Court guts voting rights, we do in fact have much to hope for. 

Things are looking better and better to take back the entire Congress, and our own endorsed candidates keep racking up phenomenal endorsements. Please join us as we help out at Micah‘s and Eli‘s campaign offices and participate in postcarding, phone banking, and door knocking. Always look out for our emails to see the next set of events you can join!

We will be handing out a palm card featuring all of our endorsed candidates outside the West Side High School poll site during early voting. Be sure to come by for any amount of time you can give — no amount is too small! The candidates will be joining us as they rush around their districts. And we will continue to do our usual campaigning at subway stops, the campaign offices, and on Broadway.

What You Need to Know

Important Primary Election Dates 

• Voter registration deadline: Last day to apply online or by mail (must be received by the BOE) is June 13. Use the registration form to register by mail or apply online. Click here to apply. 

• Change of address deadline: Last day to update your change of address online or by mail (must be received by the BOE) is June 8 in order to be processed for the Primary. Click here to update your address using the voter registration form

• Absentee ballot application: Last day to apply online or by mail (must be received by the BOE) is June 13. Click here to apply. Last day to apply in person at the BOE office is June 22.

• Absentee ballot delivery: Last day to postmark the ballot is June 23 . Ballot must be received by the BOE no later than June 30. Last day to drop off your ballot at the BOE office or a poll site in your county is June 23. 

• Early voting: Saturday, June 13 to Sunday, June 21

• Election day: Tuesday, June 23. Hours:  6:00 AM – 9 PM

Countdown to the Primary Election

The June 23 Primary Election is now just weeks away, and Three Parks and our endorsed candidates are planning a full slate of campaign activities to take advantage of the time remaining.

From now through Friday, June 12, Three Parks will have sidewalk tables on most days in various locations along Broadway, where we will distribute flyers for our endorsed candidates, offer voter registration forms, and provide helpful information to voters. Our candidates will also be holding canvassing events, phonebanks, and postcard writing sessions at various places in the neighborhood. Watch your email for dates, times, and locations.

Then from June 13 through June 21, Three Parks will focus efforts on the Early Voting poll site at West Side High School on W. 102nd St. and Amsterdam Avenue. We plan to have sidewalk tables there on weekends and to campaign at the poll site entrance on other days as well. Once again, watch your email for dates and times.

Distribute "Dear Neighbor" Letters for Our

Candidates!

"Dear Neighbor" letters -- notes about our candidates that you can personalize, sign, and place under your neighbors' doors in your building -- are a proven, effective way to reach voters. Viewed as coming from a trusted neighbor, they can be the difference-maker when people are making voting decisions.

The campaign staffs for both US Congress candidate Micah Lasher and NYS Assembly candidate Eli Northrup are offering "Dear Neighbor" letter templates that you can copy, personalize, and circulate in your building. Start by reviewing the letter templates online:

Next, please contact the candidates' campaign staffs to tell them about your plan and give them your address. The June 23 Primary is open only to registered Democrats, and the campaign staffs will provide lists of Democrats in your building upon request.

Coming July 21

The Three Parks Annual Potluck Picnic will take place on July 21 in Central Park, from 5:00 to 7:30 PM on the Pool lawn just inside the entrance at 103rd Street and Central Park West. 

Since there are no club meetings in July and August, the picnic is the perfect opportunity for club members to share a lovely evening in the park, socializing with friends and elected officials. And part of the fun is bringing a potluck dish to share with fellow club members. Feel free to bring a blanket or folding chair/stool to the park if you wish.
