President's Report
By Lorraine Zamora
Great News! Three Parks Independent Democrats and Broadway Democrats are partnering again. Together, we will staff our 2024 presidential campaign center at 2742 Broadway, directly next door to Silver Moon Bakery on W. 105th street, with two banners on our storefront windows: One saying HARRIS-WALZ 2024 and the other DEMOCRATIC VICTORY 2024.
As of this writing, we have a signed lease from Sept. 3 to November 9, but are awaiting insurance coverage before we can enter the space. It may take a few more days than anticipated before we get the key, so please look for eblasts announcing our grand opening or check our websites. We are looking forward to welcoming all club members to our efforts to help Kamala Harris and Tim Walz, and all Democrats running for office this year. The Campaign Center will offer scheduled activities including buses to swing areas, writing post cards and making phone calls to get-out-the-vote. And we’ve got some of the catchiest and snappiest buttons available for a suggested donation of $3 per button, 2 for $5. ...

Welcome to Our Campaign Center on Broadway!
| |
The 2024 Democratic Victory Campaign Center, staffed by Three Parks Independent Democrats and Broadway Democrats, opens soon!
Located at 2742 Broadway at W. 105th Street (next door to the Silver Moon Bakery), it will be our headquarters for campaign activities for the duration of the election campaign season. We plan to be open Tuesdays through Sundays, from noon through early evening.
Come to the Campaign Center to learn about our plans for phone banks, post card writing, canvassing trips to important swing districts, and other activities. See how you can get involved! Sign up to volunteer.
A wide variety of campaign materials will be available at the Center, especially a large selection of buttons -- some serious, some funny, all a great way to show your support for the Democratic ticket.
The Campaign Center is entirely funded by your contributions. With your generous financial support, we will organize a full slate of high-powered, lively, and effective campaign activities that will bring victory on Election Day!

Congressional District NY-19, a large and mostly rural upstate district that extends from the Massachusetts border to Ithaca, is a critical swing district that Democrats lost to a Republican in the 2022 midterms. On September 9 and September 23, Three Parks will be phonebanking for Josh Riley, the current Democratic Congressional candidate. Victory for Riley would help Democrats win back the majority in the House of Representatives.
About Josh Riley. Josh has a compelling personal story, impressive experience and great policy positions. See his experience, background and policy issues on his website,

In Memoriam – Milivoy Samurovich, 1934-2024
By Judy Wood
We are sad to announce that one of our club founders and a long-time member has passed away – the last remaining founder. Milivoy and his wife Christine were my neighbors at 890 West End Avenue when I moved into the building in 1968. I soon discovered their political life when a Democratic club started meeting in their apartment. And that was the beginning of Three Parks Independent Democrats – still going stronger than ever!
We worked together on many issues and political campaigns as the Club continued to thrive and grow, finally making it necessary to move out of their apartment and into the Youth Hostel where we continue to meet monthly. Milivoy served enthusiastically on the Three Parks Board of Directors for many years ...

Voter Awareness Day on Broadway!
On August 26, Three Parks members, along with members of Assembly Member Danny O'Donnell's staff, turned out to provide voting information and resources to our Upper West Side friends and neighbors. Sponsored by the office of City Council Member Gale Brewer, the event honored Women's Equality Day and the anniversary of the adoption of the 19th Amendment.
At a sidewalk table on Broadway at W. 104th Street, volunteers gave out ballot and poll site information. They also helped adults to register to vote, to update their registration data, and to learn about Proposal 1, the New York State Equal Rights Amendment on the November ballot.
