What we're watching:
As we say goodbye to a world figure who will undoubtedly go down in the history books, we're watching highlights from his farewell speech. In spite of the inspiring message, it's with a heavy heart that we watch Obama talk about inclusion, democracy and everyone's moral imperative to continue creating change.
What we're reading:
This week we're hosting an amazing 25-person group of Peace Studies and Communications students from Chapman University in California, and we're reading their blog! They are on a two-week educational journey in Costa Rica, and are writing daily summaries of their activities. Follow along for a first-hand account!
Quote we're inspired by:
" We should not develop a habit of retreating to the harbor whenever we encounter a storm, for this will never get us to the other side of the ocean."
-- Chinese President Xi Jinping at the World Economic Forum
2017 is off to a great start, and there is so much going on in the world these days! We're following major events like the World Economic Forum, where Chinese President, Xi Jinpeng, is talking about sustainable futures and renewable energy, and the transition of presidential power in the US, as we say goodbye to one of the most influential leaders of modern times. At the same time, we're balancing that with receiving  a whopping 49 students and professors in small group programs this month, taking them around Costa Rica to learn about peace, applied social responsibility and social justice.
All in all, the future is looking bright. See you in two weeks for our next Three Thought Thursday!
