Oprah Winfrey is a celebrity, philanthropist and one of the most influential women in the world. Known for messages of inclusion, acceptance and self-love, this excerpt from her recent address at Agnes Scott College reminds us that your legacy is the lives you touch. Every moment of every day you are building it. Powerful words to live by as we make the little choices in life!
What we're reading:
Harvard conducted a 75-year study that tracked the emotional and physical well-being of two distinct groups of men. Their conclusions are astounding. What keeps us happy and healthy? It's not the most prestigious job or the shiny car, but quality of our closest relationships and how we use them to process stress and be vulnerable that really matters!
Quote we're inspired by:
"You may not always have a comfortable life, and you will not always be able to solve all of the world's problems at once; but don't ever underestimate the importance you can have because history has shown us that courage can be contagious and hope can take on a life of its own."
--- Michelle Obama
Whether you've studied positive psychology and live your life trying to improve your PERMA (positive emotions, engagement, relationships, meaning and accomplishments) or it is simple intuition, we all know that relationships matter. The way we treat others effects not only their well-being, but our own as well, and by being vulnerable and connecting sincerely we can build our legacy and help ensure our own health and prosperity. So be courageous, open up, and realize that in doing so, you're making positive change for yourself and those around you.
