What we're watching:
In the past 3 months, this thought-provoking clip by Simon Sinek on 'the millennial question' has gone viral and gotten more attention than Sinek himself ever intended. It speaks to the definition of a generation, how millennials can and should be mentored by today's employers. If you haven't seen it, it's well worth your fifteen minutes!
What we're reading:
Following the theme of generational analysis, 'Why Generation Y Yuppies are Unhappy' will both make you laugh out loud, and give you some serious food for thought on the progression of dominant personality traits over the years. This piece looks at those born between the 70s and the 90s, and explains why so many of us feel we deserve 'a  shiny unicorn on top of the flowery lawn.'
Quote we're inspired by:
" How did it get so late so soon? It's night before it's afternoon. December is here before it's June. My goodness how the time has flewn. How did it get so late so soon? "
    --  Dr. Seuss
Today we're thinking about changing times, and how ideas, behaviors and technologies trend over time, changing the way entire generations view and interpret the world. While we don't believe in the flat-out stereotyping of the ages, it's interesting to reflect on historical tendencies, the forces that shape them, and the distinct challenges we face today in all areas - from young people, to their employers, to the educators tasked with ensuring their futures. It's on all of us to use empathy to do our best to examine and understand what makes each generation unique, and to find innovative ways to seek out connection and growth.
