Happy December & Welcome to Advent!
I hope you had the opportunity to listen to Pastor Herzen's message from this past Sunday. A beautiful message of hope found in the coming of Jesus Christ. He challenged us to find quiet - silence - to light a candle or a fire - and to read the Scriptures and then listen. Listen for God to speak. God spoke to Zechariah in the silence. He'll speak to us in the silence.
Zechariah is one of my favorite people from the Christmas Story. Why? Because Zechariah was chosen for his role long before that day, reminding me that I too, am chosen - and so are you. Zechariah was chosen despite his misgivings and doubts - and so are we.

There are three women who are pretty darned important to the Christmas Story too. I am super excited to welcome DeDe Reilly back to Hillside for the Women of Hillside Christmas Brunch on December 10th. DeDe was a cherished part of the fabric of Hillside's children's ministry back when my boys were young. She currently serves in will be sharing her heart and faith and the Three Wise Women. We are seeking Christmas decor enthusiasts who would like to adopt a table to decorate. We are providing the table cloths (white) and the plates etc for the food - so all you need to do is the centerpiece! We can't wait to see what creative things you come up with!
