Dear explorers,
After a fun week of exploring and celebrating art in downtown State College, we're going to spend the week of July 11 seeking adventure and relaxation alongside and on the water at Colyer Lake. Colyer Lake is circled by a 2.7 mile path, mostly forested, that delivers beautiful views to visitors during all four seasons. This destination is a favorite among hikers, walkers, birders, anglers, and mountain bikers, and we hope it will become one of your favorite places, too. We're offering a variety of times, dates, and activities at the lake this week so you can plant an adventure that's just right for you.
When can I join a guided hike at Colyer Lake?
You can join us for a guided hike around Colyer Lake this Sunday, July 11 at 1 p.m. or 3 p.m., Wednesday, July 14 at 9 a.m. or 11 a.m., or Friday, July 16 at 6 p.m. You are also welcome to enjoy the destination at your own pace during these times.
Will other activities be offered this week?
Yes, Tussey Mountain Outfitters will be on site with canoes and kayaks on Sunday (12 p.m.-6 p.m.), Wednesday (9 a.m.-1 p.m.), and Friday (6-8 p.m.) for those who would like to explore the lake by boat. Life jackets will be provided, but you are welcome to bring your own. Fishing is permitted at Colyer Lake, but swimming is not permitted at this destination.
For those who enjoy dining with a waterfront view, consider packing a picnic along with chairs or a blanket for your trip. Please note that this is a carry in/carry out destination so you'll need to bring home any trash/litter that you bring with you.
