From all of us at PRCC, we are gearing up for Giving Tuesday and hope that you will make a special gift this year to help us keep supporting those seeking and in recovery.

Everything at PRCC is offered at no cost and here’s what people are saying:
A safe place to go, a community of people who know what it’s like to be in active addiction and have found recovery, the opportunity to volunteer and help others give – these are essential ingredients to finding and keeping long term recovery. That and a warm cup of coffee, support groups, social activities and recovery coaching are among the many offerings at PRCC that are saving lives.

On this Giving Tuesday we ask that you take a moment to give to the PRCC. Here are some ways that you can participate:

1. Donate financially. There are multiple ways to financially support PRCC:
  • Provide support to individuals and families. Everything at PRCC is offered free of charge. To keep our doors open, we rely on the support of generous donations. From $1 to $1000, every donation helps.
  • Building Hope and Creating Community Campaign. In 2020 PRCC embarked on a Capital Campaign to purchase and renovate a building at 102 Bishop Street in Portland. This $2.2 million campaign will assure that there is always a place for the community of people in recovery, our families, friends and allies to gather and recover together. Donate to help us meet the goal!
  • Honor a loved one. As a part of the capital campaign, you can purchase a brick to honor or remember someone you love and share your message to all who enter PRCC’s lobby for decades to come. Your purchase of a personalized brick will become a permanent part of our welcoming entry and pathways. Buy a brick.

2. Donate needed items. PRCC is looking for donations of the following items:
  • Recovery & inspirational books
  • Self-help books
  • Art supplies
  • Meditation cushions
  • Universal wireless cell chargers
  • Device charging stations
  • Comfy chair for the library
  • Grocery store gift cards
  • Portland Metro Bus tickets
  • Blank journals

3. Volunteer Your Time. PRCC relies on volunteers and they at the heart of all we do. Here are some ways you can help:

  • Volunteer at the Front Desk
  • Make Telephone recovery support calls
  • Become a Peer Recovery coach (30 hours training required)
  • Prepare and host a meal in our kitchen
  • Help with building and grounds maintenance
  • Start a group
  • Join a board or membership committee

As a part of the PRCC community, you make a difference every single day. We are grateful for you and appreciate your support.

With gratitude,

Leslie Clark, Executive Director
