Dear Thrive Community,

Breaking news: We are all thrilled about the Supreme Court's decision to block the citizenship question!

We are taking a brief summer break, but we have certainly ended this season of programs on a housing high. On June 7, we hosted a conversation with State Senator Scott Wiener on housing the nonprofit workforce, and on June 27, we partnered with Housing Industry Foundation to highlight affordable housing opportunities available now to nonprofit professionals. Meanwhile, the San Mateo County Board of Supervisors also approved a $3 billion recommended budget for each of the fiscal years 2019-20 and 2020-21, which includes an historic $50 million investment in housing solutions over the two years, in addition to a $15.5 million investment in The Big Lift early learning initiative, upgrades and renovations at county parks, funds for the continuation of Climate Ready SMC Collaborative, and an increase to staffing in the Elections and Appraiser’s offices. The board will adopt the final budget in September with revisions.

We look forward to seeing you again in August with a fantastic Environment & Sustainability TAG on water issues on the coast and look forward to sharing our upcoming programs.

Thriving Together,
